Today, emerged a lot of questions
that arrived too late to even raise.
I’ve proudly committed my decisions;
I'd rather take off than take the blaze.
What amount of what I feel is worth feeling?
Of what we’re saying needs to be said?
Should I be denying or should I be dealing?
What pushes me to push it out of my head?
How were you and I related?
What level of “we” would we be rated?
And when you ask, I’ll half-heartedly explain,
“we are spirits strong enough to stand apart,”
but that lingering question will remain…
will strength fail if entangled in the heart?
I do not have more answers than him, but I better know
the game.
And even if it is right, nothing can screen that initial pain.
And even if it is right, nothing can screen that initial pain.
